City Meetings, Records, and OrdinancesRequirements of the Open Meeting Law The primary requirement of the open meeting law is that meetings be open to the public. The law also requires that votes in open meetings be recorded in a journal or minutes and that the journal or minutes used to record votes of a meeting be open to the public. The vote of each member must be recorded on appropriations of money, except for payments of judgments and claims and amounts fixed by statute. |
